ABOUT US
Staff
Our Director is Mimi Lyons, M.A. Early Childhood Education and New Jersey State Certified Teacher. The Assistant Directors are Kathy Adams and Kathy DeMare. Both are teachers within the school.
All of our teachers are mature, sensitive and highly experienced with preschool children. We do not utilize teacher aides, but rather a co-teaching approach of two teachers per class. This co-teaching philosophy and approach at Scribbles is our specialty. When co-teachers are placed together, we take into consideration their varying strengths in the curriculum and their individual teaching styles. When selecting teachers for the school and placing them in specific classes where they complement one another, the goal is to provide for each individual child an optimum learning environment where each child's uniqueness is met. In addition to the two teachers per class, our classes are supplemented by student teachers from local universities whenever possible. Our pupil-teacher ratio and our percentage of certified teachers far exceed the State requirements. Teachers are certified in CPR and First Aid.
All Staff at Scribbles sign this Statement of Commitment upon beginning employment here.
